With shows like One Piece, Attack On Titan, and My Hero Academia, anime has become quite popular over the years. People love attending anime conventions dressed as their favorite characters from shows like Naruto, wielding a Sasuke sword and posing for pics. But some people among you at these conventions may be super famous actors and singers!

As anime becomes more and more mainstream, influencers and celebrities alike have come forward to share their love of anime. Here are some famous people that aren’t afraid of being weebs.

Snoop Dogg

The Dog Father has become quite a nerd the last few years. Once known for his gangster rap and being very, very, very high, Snoop Dogg has become quite immersed in streaming, gaming, esports, and anime. Who can forget the hilarious streams where he is pretending to play a game only to be caught using his hands to light and smoke a joint. Or the times he rage quits after games of Madden.

Snoop Dogg has also been quite vocal about his love of anime series like Naruto. Snoop Dogg has even said that Neptune from Hyperdimension Neptunia is his “waifu.” He has become so invested in anime that he even rapped for the Afro Samurai soundtrack.

Keanu Reeves

The action movie star known for his roles like John Wick was once asked to star in a live action Netflix adaptation of Cowboy Bebop. Unfortunately this never happened, but it’s no secret that Reeves has been obsessed with the anime.

Taika Waititi

Taika is not afraid to show off his nerdy side. While filming Thor: Love and Thunder, the actor was spotted wearing a One Piece sweatshirt that had the future Pirate King himself, Monkey D. Luffy. But he isn’t satisfied just wearing anime merch. He’s taken it a step further by asking for a live action Akira.

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson is clearly not one to hold back on his opinions. The man is known for his loud outbursts and blunt statements. During an interview, Samuel said that he loved anime. That’s nice. Oh, and hentai as well… TMI?

Drake

Speaking of hentai, Drake was recently in the headlines for sharing hentai on his Instagram story. While many people called him “thirsty” and “down bad,” his public display of love for anime — even though it’s the naked kind — should be respected. The man has over 124 million followers on Instagram and wasn’t afraid to share some screenshots from his favorite hentai scenes. That’s commendable (sort of).

Robin Williams

Robin Williams was one of the greatest comedians of the last few decades. As if his passing wasn’t already hard enough, we have also learned that Williams was a huge fan of anime. His favorite was Ghost in the Shell, which is pretty sick. Williams also has love for Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

The RZA

The Wu Tang Clan is no stranger to Asian culture so it’s not too shocking that The RZA loves anime. He composed the soundtrack for Afro Samurai, which is pretty incredible. The RZA feels a deeper connection to anime than just loving the action, however. He has used Dragonball Z as a metaphor for growing up black in America. It’s clear he relates a lot to the story, characters, and messaging.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Along with Taika Waititi, DiCaprio was fighting for a live action adaptation of Akira. He tried to make this happen for several years, which is longer than he gives most of his girlfriends. DiCaprio has also expressed his love for Studio Ghibli films like Ponyo and Howl’s Moving Castle.

Jamie Lee Curtis

While Curtis often comes across quite serious, she is known for her love of anime and horror, among other interesting genres of media. She was even invited to the premiere of One Piece Gold and has expressed love for Chopper’s English voice actor Brina Palencia. This most definitely explains her dramatic and intense performance in the recent Halloween movies.

Michael B. Jordan

The talented actor is a huge fan of anime, especially Naruto and Bleach. Jordan has even said that his love for anime inspired his incredible performances, including his role as Killmonger in Black Panther. He even admitted that the armor he wore as Killmonger was inspired by none other than Dragonball Z’s Vegeta.

Megan Fox

The sultry and often misunderstood actress has made it clear that she loves anime. She grew up watching Sailor Moon and even added that she would really like to have a role in a live action adaptation of the iconic show. I can totally see her as Sailor Jupiter or Sailor Pluto.

Are you an anime lover yourself? From a Sasuke sword to Attack on Titan swords, Ice Imports has all of the realistic reproduction anime weapons you need to cosplay your favorite characters at the next convention.
